Intermittent Outages Due to Global AWS Disruption
Resolved - While the broader AWS outage remains ongoing, the specific issue that impacted Viafoura’s LiveComments service has now been resolved on AWS’s side.

Our engineering team has verified full restoration and stability across LiveComments endpoints, and user functionality has returned to normal. We will continue to closely monitor performance while AWS completes their wider recovery efforts.

Update - We are continuing to monitor the ongoing global AWS outage, which remains the root cause of the LiveComments disruption. Our engineering and SRE teams have observed no material changes in AWS service availability at this time.

All mitigation measures remain in place, and systems are stable under current conditions. Once AWS reports recovery, we will begin revalidating affected services and confirm full restoration of LiveComments functionality.

Investigating - We are experiencing intermittent outages and elevated error rates across multiple Viafoura products due to a global AWS outage impacting core cloud services. Our teams are actively monitoring, mitigating, and rerouting where possible.

Affected feature:
-LiveComments (real-time commenting experience)
-Moderation Console
- Analytics Dashboards

User symptoms:
- Widget not loading or appearing blank on article pages
- Users unable to post or view new comments
- Delays in real-time updates or interactions
